Chris Henry Klahorst, Building Designer

EDUCATION

Associates Degree in Architectural Technology from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1974.

EXPERIENCE

Chris’ early work experience as a carpenter for a small construction company developed an understanding of the construction side of the business. This experience laid the ground work for a perceptive of what is essential toward the design of future projects, but more important the impressions of how the design & development process can be a compliment to each other.

Chris first began his professional practice of residential and commercial design in 1970 with the start of Graphic Planners in Hammond Louisiana. In 1980 the firm’s name changed to Chris Henry Klahorst Designer/ Planner, Inc. and relocated our office to Mandeville, Louisiana. The move to Mandeville allowed the firm to focus on the modern application of design management and to implement this in the design of modern homes and office buildings. Now know as Chris Henry Klahorst Design Group, Inc. our main focus is bring forth the potential of existing homes and designing new visions of residential and commercial structures for our valuable clients.

INSPIRATION

Chris' vision is to communicate the design-build process by the use of the visual benefits found on a website. Today the necessary means of communication can be properly bridged between all building partners, and design information can now be easily illustrated. The internet allows the means in sharing design information, and for the proper documentation of all material choices and decisions made. The results is a better understand of the goals involved in helping to make the process succeed.
